This  DVD could almost be a Neon album for it's energy and furious pace at which the songs are delivered. This is a rare historic document  that gives you another dimension to Tim Jones' Somebody famous project. As always great songs and some great performances. Lot's of edge and passion. Much more new wave than the studio work.

Terri B takes on the Somebody Famous legacy with a collection of 'new tapes, old tapes and in between tapes'. The overall imnpact is a spellbinding addition to the Somebody Famous catalogue. There's much to admire in this interesting and varied collection which converges the stamp of Rabbits Hat and Census of Hallucinations with the seeper history of Tim Jones' music.

This compilation is a hybrid collection of best of and previously unreleased tracks. Focusing mainly around the vinyl album "The Gift" which was released in 1988 sandwiched neatly halfway between "prisoners of the real world" and "The ship of Grandads day". Tim's well loved distinctive voice stands out and his guitar playing is punchy. The songs from "The Gift" era expose a more commercial and pop side than is evident in Tim's other work.

Released on Empress records in 1991, the band for this album was trimmed down to a more intimate 3 piece unit and the music reflects that. The big production values of the eighties are gone and the focus seems one of a more reflective and personal collection of songs. The songs as always are superb and the musicianship is outstanding.

In 1984, Former Punishment of Luxury and Neon guitarest Tim Jones gathered a bunch of friends together and recorded this mini album for Falling A records. The album was a budget buster for Falling A pretty much clearing them out of cash and leaving them with no money to press or promote it. Finally, they saved up enough some 20 years later and "Prioners of the real world" is here. Even all this time later, the album sounds like a futuristic soundtrack and could almost be a concept album. Loads of New Wave attitude and energy, great songs, outstanding musicianship and plenty of the quirkiness we were to come to know and love later in the Rabbits Hat and Census of Hallucinations.
